ECB Crazy? I think so!

After dropping couponing for a year and a half, I recently shared with a few friends my old passion of getting things for cheap and close to free just by collecting ECB's (Extra Care Bucks) and simply cutting a few coupons out of the Sunday paper, so I decided to take it upon myself to give it another go. I will be sharing my finds and amazing deals on this blog for your enjoyment :) Since I didn't have any ECB's to start with, I had to pay out of pocket to receive ECB's. (for more information on ECB's, scroll down a blog or two.)

This week I started with just 3 products:

Dawn Hand Renewal dishwashing soap -on sale for .94
Crest toothpaste -on sale for 3.29
Gillette Fusion Proglide razor -on sale for 9.99

Total without coupons:

14.22

I bought a Sunday paper last night and clipped some coupons today so I had:

$1 off any Crest toothpaste
.25 off Dawn soap
$4 off Gillette Fusion razor

Total with coupons:

8.97

Since it was my first time and had no ECB's to start with, I had to pay 8.97 out of pocket. Still, not a bad deal for all of that. But then, when my receipt printed out, I had $7.29 worth of ECB's. Free money!

I then realized that I could get another tube of toothpaste for free (the limit was 2 per customer), so I bought one for my roommate. After "buying" it, another receipt printed off for $3.29. So next week, I will update my blog once more and let you know what I got with my $7.29 worth of EBC's that I received this week.
