My Testimony in 400-500 words

Please complete a 400-500 word testimony of your life that includes the following: relationship with your father, mother and close family members past and present; childhood and teenage years; when and how did your conversion to Jesus change your life; describe your spiritual growth; and comment on your devotional life.

Standing by myself in my front yard as a 4 year old, I distinctly remember looking at the moon and knowing that I had a very big God. I believe He set me apart before I was even born, because my parents prayed for all of us 4 children to know and love their Savior as our own. I grew up in a strict Baptist home, and was the 3rd girl, my brother following two years later. I've always been independent, not bothering anyone unless need be. My sisters were best friends and my Father favored his son, so my Mama and I became incredibly close. Before the whirlwind of the day began, I would cuddle up close to my Mama in the stillness of the morning as she drank her tea, reading out loud passages of Scripture to me. A few moves and Churches/denominations later, our family slowly but surely started to separate. I got involved with a non-denominational Church and at the tender age of 13, Christ opened my eyes to His love for me and the pain He suffered through to know me intimately. My life has been turned upside down since. My sisters began to walk away from a faith they never truly claimed as their own, and moved out after high school. My Mama developed breast cancer when I was 14, and my Father moved out shortly before my 16th birthday, taking my baby brother with him to New York to build a house for my Mama(we lived in Philadelphia). I had a lot of anger issues in high school, not realizing it was because of the bitterness I had towards my absent Father. My Mama was there through it all, teaching and discipling me to be more like Christ, no matter how hard it was to give up myself. She showed me unconditional love. I was given by God the incredible opportunity to lead my baby brother to Christ 3 years ago, and we went from being strangers to being best friends. He calls me his "spiritual Mom". Our Mother kept deteriorating from a life of illness and cancer, and the LORD took her Home in November of 2005, but not without a legacy and fruition from her life of faithfulness to her Creator. After a year of being a vagabond and not having secure stability, I moved in with my Father and brother when I was 20.....

more to come....
